Sketchy trees and poppies with Sheena Douglass

Hello lovely peeps!

Sheena is back with more stamps from her Sketchy range, showcasing them today on Hochanda!
The team have loved playing with these. I adore these trees and stamps! These will work so well with all the other landscape stamps you may have in your Sheena stash.

First, the poppies... so, with these blooms and chosen words, I wanted to create a scene that would say, don't worry, hope is on the horizon, here comes the sun.

For this one, I went for yellow poppies as they would be bright and cheery and compliment the uplifting sentiments. They are easy to decoupage too.

I love trees, so was very happy to get to play with these. So here, we see what lies beneath, there is so much more to trees than we see. I created this as a silver birch, one of my very favourite trees.

The great thing about this collection is you have trees for all seasons, so whether you are creating summer scenes or winter wonderlands, you have everything you need. Here is the strong and beautiful oak with it's leaves changing through the year.

And now for a crisp winter morning...

This one was inspired by seeing the beautiful constellation of Orion the other night. This is the best way to see the stars, in the countryside above beautiful trees.

I also created one to show how you can use the collection together to create scenes.

For this one, I wanted to do something different and thought a rainbow would suit the sentiments well too, all the colours and shades of life.

And finally, sometimes we need to just stop and rest. With this collection you can do detailed scenes or something quite clean and simple.

You will have lots of fun playing with these stamps, I know we did.

Fairy realms with Donna Ratcliff

Hello crafters!

The team recently went on a trip to the fairy realms, courtesy of Donna. I love all things fairy so this was right up my street!

You can create a real fairyland by combining the stamps across this collection. This is a diorama I made doing just this.

Fairies are an excellent excuse to get out the bling! So for this collection we used sparkle pens and glitter! As you can see the wee folk are still busy during the night. These stamps are easy to decoupage too.

And they are still doing their magic the next morning... you get lots of stamps to create backgrounds with and some wonderful sentiments.

Who's behind the green door?

Why, a fairy if course!

Brewing up a spell.. also a great reason to make fancy, backing papers. You can make the bottles look magical by layering them with glitter and clear embossing powder. It's a shame that the sparkle doesn't show up so well on photos.

I love these poppy seed heads! Perfect fairy houses.

Here is something which I thought, would make nice invites for a little girls party.

I hope you have enjoyed this visit to fairyland.. I'm sure I will visit again.

Stencils go 3D!

Hello lovely peeps!

Hope you are all well out there! So, we've had 3D folders! What came next? Well, 3D stencils, yes that's right, 3D stencils! These were designed by our team leader Donna and as you can imagine, a lot of work went into them. They are like nothing you will have seen before and take stenciling to the next dimension! The Inkoids loved working with them.

Here is the hibiscus flower. For many of the samples, I used Sheena's glycerine and Aquapen/Sparkle pen technique, it's really easy to do with these. You start with the lightest colour first and use slightly darker shades to apply the 3 layers. You can then also build on this, by drawing in extra lines for emphasis.

There is also an amazing rose, as soon as I saw this I knew I had to create a rainbow rose with the technique mentioned above. I love the sentiments in this collection too, truly uplifting.

And now for the Dhalia...

Hydrangea... a lovely set of texture stamps come with this launch too, so you can make your own backgrounds.

I made this Sunflower card using Pebeo acrylic paints.

Because you can't have flowers without butterflies..

For this card, I created a cascade of rainbow butterflies..

These stencils are not just for card, they also work perfectly on fabric with Pebeo's fabric paints. They also come with masks, so you can layer your designs.

Well, as you can see, stencils are now shooting for the moon and beyond! So much you can do with them. I hope you enjoy playing with these as much as we did.

3D folders with Sheena Douglass

Hello crafty people!

Sheena brought us some amazing things in 2017 and one of them was 3D folders! These really are an innovation in the crafting world! What a treat it was to work with these. 😊They also came with some new uplifting sentiments.

I love this feather folder, so Heavenly!

But.. also great with a cheeky bit of gilding wax!

You can go full on colour with Sparkle pens and then emboss and highlight details with a pen.

Up, up and away in the beautiful balloons..

For this one I used the luscious metallic pencils from Crafter's Companion.

This is a creation made with Kraft card and faux leather.

Painted scene with Sheena's sparkle pens again.

So with these folders, you can go beyond where you have been before! To steal the famous words of Craig Revel Horwood, FAB-U-LOUS!

Back soon, crafty hugs

Vintage travel stamps with Stacey Barras

Hello again,

In November, team Sheena went on a big adventure, invited by Stacey Barras. I love these stamps, perfect for those with an yearning travel.

I thought it would work well for another Z fold card, it gives you more space to work with, which is great. There are some amazing sentiments with this collection too, in the popular brush lettering style.

Who doesn't love a campervan? Our intrepid explorers are leaving the big lights of the city, to venture out into the country.. Leonie says call them back, they've forgotten some cases! πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚

Again, with this collection, we have a set of wonderful smaller stamps, to help create backgrounds.

So, we arrive as the sun rises in the city that never sleeps! Adventure waits on every corner! This made me think of that famous song. "New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of..."

I love this hot air balloon! I wanted to created a dreamy, magical atmosphere with this one.

With this card,  I also added a extra vintage twist by the choice of colours. These stamps are so adaptable.

I hope you have had a pleasant trip with Barras Travel, we hope to see you again soon.

Safe travels.

When fabric and stamping collide

Greetings fellow crafters!

So, where did I get too? Or yes, that was it , 😊 back in November our Sheena teamed up with Liz Curtis to bring us some stamps that would also look fabulous on fabric! What a wonderful combination that turned out to be!

Not having used fabric paints before, I thought what is this newfangled thing? Many in the team were the same, lol,  but I can tell you, we loved to play with something new! They may have created new fabric painting monsters!

These stamps work perfectly on card too, so anyone can use them, but don't be scared try them on fabric!

When I saw this galleon, I simply had to do a diorama with rolling waves to shore. The sentiments were chosen from other Sheena collections.

Beautiful realistic butterflies..

Hummingbirds and Hibiscus which I both adore.

I thought these sentiments went perfectly with this image, it seemed quite Shakespearean, I used the butterfly to symbolise the transient nature of life.

I depicted this as an angelic protective sword.

There are some brilliant funky flowers too, which will go perfect with the 60's collection if you also have that.

And last but not least, on fabric! Some of the team, also got the chance to sew too! It had been a long time since I'd had my machine out, and it's a bit hard with a cat now, keeping fluff of fabric! lol But it was like an old friend I'd not seen for awhile.

So folks, don't be afraid to mix it up a bit! Why not try stamping on fabric with the Pebeo paints? You might just find you enjoy it as much as we did,

Steampunk Animals by Donna Ratcliff

Hello lovely peeps!

I'm on a roll! Also in October, Donna brought us her Steampunk Animals! (More Camomile tea required! πŸ˜‰) Donna is doing amazingly well with her fabulous creations and people are loving them as we knew they would!

So, in my brain, I'm hearing myself say, less waffle, more pictures! So here goes...

Donna created a series of characters for this collection, and here I introduce Lord Percy, Steampunk dog!

His little pal, Spiffy the mouse!

And Marmaduke, fearless Steampunk adventurer!

The clockwork butterfly..

Mechanical blooms..

And we all need a little light in our lives! ....

As you can see I combined them with Crafter's Companion embossing folders and Sheena's cog dies, as they work so perfectly with them too! I did a lot of decoupage, as I love it and it's so easy to do with these.

I was very lucky to also be asked to create some projects for Creative Stamping, so I got the chance to play some more! These are the projects designed for the feature.

A Z fold card...

Easel card..

And not forgetting Percy..

I've loved working on these and hope you have enjoyed seeing them.
